Yes, I have a story for this week — if I had the time to edit it properly.
Yes, I can produce a guided meditation for the fifth energy node — with an hour to devote to it.
However, my truth is that it is Wednesday and I am still working on the fiber panel – as you can see from the photo. My truth is that the post for this week is incomplete…in the sense that it will not be filled with nicely rounded periods or particularly long-thought thoughts (unless they fling themselves onto the page under their own steam.)
But that is my truth (however many apologies I could make) and I am simply going to be honest about it because truth is essential to being aligned with this node.
The center for change, transformation, and healing is found here in Throat Chakra. Its color is a light clear blue. If you want to be able to locate it in your body, put your finger gently into the notch at the bottom of your neck – that little ‘v’ in your collar bone – that is where the node lies.
It makes some sense to think of Throat Chakra as the seat of speech and communication – and it is that, too. It makes sense to associate it with the gifts of singing, story-telling, oratory, acting, and preaching. With a little stretch, it is even possible to connect it to the gift of writing because writing is a form of communication. But transformation and healing?
In as close to a nutshell as I can come, Throat Chakra is the center of healing because it is the literal place from which we speak our own unique truth. It is where that authentic being with which we connect in our third node, is communicated to the world-universe-creation we have learned to love in our fourth node (Heart Chakra).
We cannot be either fully authentic or fully loving if we are living a lie, if we are trying to force our unique being to conform to someone else’s expectations or experiences. We cannot be loved truly and deeply if when we tell our story, the protagonist is a fictional character rather than our true Self.
We can all think of a time when we silenced that inner truth, when we were afraid to risk telling our story with transparency. We can think of times when we euphemized our life, pretending to believe or value something we do not, in fact, believe or value.
Throat Chakra is about healing (and change and transformation) because it is about communicating honestly and wholly (holy) who we are. Simply put: We are healed when we are whole…and we cannot be whole if we are one person inside and another person in our relationships with others.
So, here is my prayer for us both this week:
Lift me
on the molten thermals
of truth.
Breathe me (w)holy
into the world –
unique proclamation,
exact word, perfect silence.
In-spire clarity.
Exhale vicarious experience
and the ghosts
that want me to accomplish
their unfinished business.
Dare me
to risk
being
myself.
Let’s tell the truth. This world desperately needs more truth.

NOTE 2: If you haven’t seen my Facebook page (Immram Chara), please check it out. I post there almost every day. If you are willing (and haven’t already), please Like the page…and pass it along to friends. Thank you.
How and when did the Celtic sensibility come to be yours?
I believe it some senses it always was mine. I was raised a Universalist Christian, a tradition in which G-d is profoundly incarnate and imminent. As my own faith grew and matured, I also came in touch with Celtic spirituality and the Irish catholic tradition which carried learning and wisdom through the continental Dark Ages. The imminent presence of G-d in all events, in all places, resonated. It felt like a familiar space with new perspectives and new language, but a story I have always known as my own.
