The spring season of Imbolc brings us to St Brigid’s Day, to the blessing of wells and candles, to lambing time, to abundance bursting forth, color emerging from winter’s bare bones.
Set One: Florals
These flowers were blooming during our sabbatical in the United Kingdom: iris, lady’s slipper, bluebells, tulips. In the United States, I found this basket of daffodils on a church door, and this lovely scene at the Botanic Garden.
These landscapes resonate with power ready to burst forth into new life. Setting sail from Stromness Harbor, a threshold between an ancient world and this one, the Ring of Brodgar, the watchtower at Glendalough, Orkney pinks growing on Marwick Cliff, an open gate at Barrington Court.
